Ecstatic.
That's the word I would use to desribe how I felt about my first book club gathering today.
It had been in the works with my friends here for a while. But what they probably don't know is that it's been years that I've been talking with friends about getting a book club together.
I remember friends of mine at The Siz talking about doing it but we never did. And that was back when Rae was but a wee child.
But man, what is more cool that talking with friends about a book?!
Luckily a group of friends and I discovered we all had a love for the Twilight Series. Finally there was the one book that stirred up enough excitement to get us together to discuss.
I can't deny that sometimes I think that reading about Vampires and Werewolves can really get into my head.
Case and point- today- before we discussed at the book club, we ate, right?
As we are all gathered and eating, I am starting to think that some are just "eating". As in, faking it so that nobody would notice that they really don't eat like us humans.
See Katie, playing the part... Are you with me here?
And look at these two...
All that delicious food?? Wears the biting? Chewing?? Why are they SO still?
They are looking a little Vampire-ish, are they not?!
Then something good happened, I saw eating...
Phew!
But wait, is that not a werewolf bite???
I think I heard growling too!
I knew I needed to try to get a handle on myself.
But, is this sweet looking baby showing me fangs?!
And is this one (with. red. eyes!) about to take my leg off?!
Tell me this isn't crouching?!?!
Oh!My.Word! They ARE fangs!
DEFINITELY FANGS!!!!!
About now is when I got up and went to the bathroom, splashed the face with water, did some composing, got it together....
This is when I realized how ridiculous I was being.
That it was time to snap out of it.
Composed, I suggest we gather for pictures.
I got a picture of those who were the biggest fans of Jacob, the werewolf-
And then I gathered those who were Edward fans.
And when I uploaded the pictures, I knew that this day was not all in my head.

And now I have to wait for the movie!!!
Rae has her own camera now and it's entertaining to find pictures she's taken and saved onto the computer.
Like this one from a week or so ago when she had a friend over.
Silly girls.
They had an idea of posing with a teddy bear, kissing up on it, you know they thought it would be the cutest thing ever.
Here is a picture I took with my friend in my youth-
Admittedly, I was a couple of years older there than Rae is now.
But still.
What's important is you knowing that I knew props when I was a teen.
That I knew that when you needed to spice things up and pose with a friend, while posing with a prop, I knew how and what.
See...
We posed with Whoppers from Burger King.
Need a close up?
Mmmmmm....
Take it back now ya'll.
Wait- do you see that?
See, it's not that I didn't have a Teddy.
It's just that I had my priorities in order.
P.S. I found the skunk picture. I repeat, I found the skunk picture. Scroll down to yesterday's post to see it.
